The ETR is a musical instrument in a very basic form. A heartbeat sensor attached to the ear of the composer creates the rythm.

A volume knob and a secondary sensor allow the composer to control the volume and the tone of the sound.

The ETR is meant to allow people without any notice of musical skills to become a composer.
